How to politely tell people to leave me the heck alone?

I am 40 weeks 2 days pregnant and was told by the doc that I would probably have the baby early. Obviously I didn't. I have family and friends who call me every day to see if the baby has arrived. Even though I humor them and tell them not to worry, we will call you when she comes, they still call and ask me the same questions each day. Taking the advice of What to Expect, I then changed the voicemail on my cell phone to say we were still awaiting our baby's arrival and we would let everyone know when she was born. In the meantime, we are resting. I then started screening my calls and letting everyone else hear that message, thinking it would help. Nope! It made things worse. Now if I don't answer the phone, then they REALLY think I am going into labor and will CALL AND CALL until I pick up. So how can I get some peace and quiet? I really am sick of answering the questions of %26quot;How are you feeling?%26quot; and %26quot;Has the baby arrived yet?%26quot; Plus, I'm already frustrated from seeing my due date come and go with no progression in dilation and effacement from my 39 week appt. to my 40 week appt! How to politely tell people to leave me the heck alone?Tell them all, ideally by email, that you're utterly exhausted, and although you really do appreciate their support and concern, you and your partner need some family time to prepare for the new arrival - as such you won't be able to respond to any calls for the next few weeks.

Anyone who doesn't leave you alone after that should be scrapped from your address book!

I bought a second cheap mobile phone and gave that the number to the people that matter, and only answered that phone from there on.

Good luck with the baby xxxHow to politely tell people to leave me the heck alone?umm well if that really happened to me.. i would either change home number / cell phone number or disconnect phonesHow to politely tell people to leave me the heck alone?tell them that all these telephone calls are probbably giving you radiation poisoning and that they have to stop or else itd affect the baby in a bad way and if they call again when the baby is actually born you won't call them.
